Uh oh

Well this is pissing me off…newsgator.com has had some major issues since sometime last night:

I tell you, I’ve been with my current hosting provider for some time, but ever since they were acquired by a certain other company, things have gone downhill in the reliability department. I’m not going to name them here (yet), as I’m hoping they get this fixed in a hurry and don’t want to piss them off. :-)

Anyone have recommendations for a high quality .NET hosting provider? I’ve heard good things about maximumasp.net, but I’m worried about their 2Mb/sec bandwidth throttle – we have times that go way over that. I’ve also heard good things about rackspace.com, but only on the Linux side. Anyone?

Update: it’s back up now, but I’d still like to hear some recommendations from you…

    Greg,
My name is Robert, and I’m with Interscape Technologies, Inc., an Arizona Corporation. We also have a mutual connection that I will talk to you about privately.

That problem usually stemms from a mismapping in IIS involving the Framework. It happens from time to time, and the only solution I’ve found is to uninstall and reinstall ASPNET in IIS, and redo the web. Unfortunately, that is not something that you can do, unless of course you have your own server. Shoot me an e-mail or ping me on MSN with the same address and I’ll help you out any way I can.

    NewsGator Rocks!

I use MaximumASP for multiple sites and customers. All have been extremely happy moving to MaximumASP (from Interland, iNNERHOST, VERIO and others.)

I would suggest that you contact MaximumASP directly to relay your concern about the bandwidth throttling. I know that they are flexible and have helped me resolve issues.

Their technical support has been extremely helpful and I have never had a problem with a site that was caused by another customer on a shared server (as opposed to Interland where it seemed to be happening every few hours.)

    Greg,

I have had great experiences with both Orcsweb and SecureWebs.

I used to have a virtual account with OW and have had to deal with their tech support for ASPAdvice.com. They have been great.

I also host a server at SecureWebs for .NETWeblogs.com and ASPNetWeblog.com. I use an unmanged account to keep the costs down, but their support still been exceptional.

I don’t think you will go wrong with either one.
