I've been trying (with little success) to re-develop an electronic forms system using RSS that could integrate with email (especially with email groupings). Maybe the best way forward would be a development of NewsGator/Outlook, perhaps using the little used TextArea element of RSS: emails could be sent that were integrated with an associated RSS form and the form input responses could be returned by RSS.

It strickes me that NewsGator would be uniquely placed to supply this desperately needed enhancement to email/groupware.

Many years ago I produced a very simple forms creation and response consolidation process (in cobol) for British Railways (they called it FFWD 'forms forwarder'). See http://radio.weblogs.com/0117018/outlines/FFWD.html

This was highly regarded and was extensively used (by people and by computer systems) but it was abandoned when standard email systems were implemented. Maybe now is the time for something just as easy to use to come back on standard transport systems.
