The preference between author and dc:creator is not defined, and if the feed defines both, either one could be used.

However, (author or creator) will be used in preference to feed name, if present.

Will NewsGator put dc:creator in the From field, then author and finally feed name (in descending order of preference)?

Quite right, Sam…I didn’t realize author was only supposed to contain an email address, but alas, it’s even in the userland spec. That’ll teach me not to validate!

Fixed now - using dc:creator.

This doesn’t appear to be a valid use of author. See:
